What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children and youth build the skills they need to participate in everyday activities at home, at school, and in the community. At Nurturing Behaviours Inc., our Occupational Therapists work with children ages 2 to 18 to support development in areas such as fine and gross motor skills, emotional regulation, self-care (like dressing and feeding), sensory processing, attention and focus, and independence.

Through play-based and individualized approaches, our OTs help children gain confidence, improve daily functioning, and achieve meaningful goals. Whether your child needs help holding a pencil, managing big feelings, or navigating daily routines, our team is here to support their growth and success.

Maya Ramakrishnan obtained her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT).

Maya has gained experience providing Occupational Therapy services within the MVA/Auto-Insurance sector, as well as inpatient, community, and pediatric settings. She has conducted assessments and implemented interventions for individuals with a variety of physical, cognitive, and psycho-emotional impairments. Maya is also certified as an Office Ergonomics Evaluator and Job Demands Analysis Evaluator.
