We’re excited to announce The Sensory Zone – a dynamic, inclusive space designed to support movement, exploration, and relaxation for children and youth of all abilities. Open for therapy sessions during the day and available to the public during evenings and weekends, this space is built to be welcoming, accepting, and accessible to all.
From active play areas featuring swings, trampolines, and climbing structures to serene corners with bubble tubes, sensory paneling, and calming lights, The Sensory Zone offers something for every sensory need. Whether you’re seeking stimulation, regulation, or simply a place to play in a supportive environment, this space is for you.

*The Sensory Zone is cashless, only debit / credit will be accepted as a form of payment.

Drop off Your child – Respite
Ratio of staff to client ranges depending on your child’s needs (1:1, or 2:1)
*an intake will be conducted with families prior to drop off to get a background on the child, their needs and strengths
*Booking in advance is required, spaces limited.
*Eligible SSAH expense
There will be specific evenings / weekends for drop offs, please register at least 2 weeks in advance using the Jane scheduling app. if something last minute comes up, and you need respite coverage for a drop in, please call and we will see if we have anything available to accommodate.
Minimum 1 hour respite drop in block required for each booking.

Designed with kids of all abilities in mind, this space offers a safe and engaging environment where everyone can play, explore, and have fun. Tuesdays 5:00-8:00 or 5:30-8:30 = $250.00 + hst
Thursdays 5:00 -8:00 or 5:30-8:30 = $250.00 + hst
Saturdays 6:00-9:00 = $300.00 + hst
Sundays 9:00-12 or 1:00-4:00 or 4:00-7:00 = $300.00 + hst
Cost includes:
- 3 hour private rental
- Access to our sensory gym, play area, and fully equipped kitchen (fridge, stove, etc.)
- Table and Chair set up upon request

Need to run errands or take a break? Book ahead for our Respite Drop-In Program – a safe, engaging environment where children can play and be supported while caregivers take time for themselves.
💬 Communication for All!
To support nonverbal or minimally verbal children, we’ll have AAC devices available on-site to promote communication and interaction while in the space.
🎧 Sound-Sensitive Friendly!
Worried about noise? We’ve got you covered! Soundproof headphones will be available to borrow on-site, helping prevent sensory overload for those who need it.
🤸 Move, Jump, Climb!
From swings and trampolines to climbing structures, our space offers opportunities for active play that builds strength, coordination, and confidence.
🌈 Calm When You Need It!
Our calming area features bubble tubes, cozy seating, dim lighting, and sensory paneling – perfect for moments of quiet, focus, or decompression.
🧸 Therapy + Community Hub!
Used for therapy during the day, The Sensory Zone opens to the public in the evenings and on weekends – blending therapeutic design with community fun!

ZOE BURNESS
Zoe is a Sensory Zone Front Desk & Program Assistant at Nurturing Behaviours Inc.. They have several years in the education-based non-profit sector, including providing hands-on learning experiences in financial literacy and entrepreneurship for youth. They are passionate about uplifting the voices of young people, and building and exploring accessible spaces in the community.
