Social Juniors
When: Tuesdays, 5:00-7:00 PM
Where: The Sensory Zone (2320 Main Street, London) & community locations.
Who: Ages 10-13
What activities will my child participate in?
- Bowling, cooking, Lego, sports, shopping, music etc. Working on independence, and social skills.
Cost: $110.00 per session. Includes cost of activities.
Social Seniors
When: Thursdays 5:00-7:00 PM
Where: The Sensory Zone (2320 Main Street, London) & community locations.
Who: Ages 14 +
What activities will my child participate in?
- Bowling, cooking, Lego, sports, shopping, music etc. Working on independence, and social skills.
Cost: $110.00 per session. Includes cost of activities.
Social Juniors & Social Seniors Goals:
The Social Skills Groups are designed to support children and youth in developing meaningful peer relationships, increasing independence, and building confidence across both structured and natural environments.
At the core of this program is the goal of creating a fun, safe, and inclusive space where participants feel comfortable being themselves, trying new things, and forming genuine friendships. Each individual may also enter a group with their own specific goals.
Group Goals:
- Social Communication
- Initiate and maintain conversations with peers
- Improve understanding of social cues (e.g., body language, tone, personal space)
- Engage in reciprocal conversations and active listening
- Peer Relationships:
- Build and maintain positive peer relationships
- Participate appropriately in group activities and shared interests
- Cooperation & Teamwork:
- Participate in group activities with flexibility and cooperation
- Demonstrate appropriate responses to winning, losing, and changes in plans
- Independence & Community Skills:
- Build confidence navigating community-based activities
- Develop independence in tasks such as purchasing items, ordering food, or preparing simple meals
- Problem solving & Flexibility
- Develop strategies to resolve peer conflicts appropriately
- Increase flexibility when plans change or challenges arise
- Practice perspective-taking and considering others’ viewpoints
- Confidence & Self-Esteem:
- Increase willingness to participate in new and unfamiliar activities
- Build confidence in social settings
